A very interesting article Darleen. However I wonder why it proposes he proposes that "Japan could simply announce that it wants an exchange rate of, say, 140 yen per dollar and is prepared to buy dollars for yen until it achieves that goal". By printing yen and buying gold with those yen they could achieve the same purpose and end up with an appreciating asset rather than depreciating US dollars...

But I do want to set the record straight. First of all, I couldn't care less what your(or your childrens) skin color is. I'm only interested in your ideas. Secondly, on a cyber gold thread such as this, I couldn't care less if you are male, female or hermaphrodite. Moreover, your "sexual preference" is likewise irrelevant to me. However you like it is fine with me, whether it be with men, women, horses, etc; as long as it is not with minors(or incest) and there is mutual human consent. Thirdly, I do not assume that all conservatives are republican bigots. Bigots come in all different political and religious packages. Fourthly, cut the soap opera BS and lets hear your thoughts about what moves the POG.
