Hi HG48! Great on Penny Rose. Isn't that something. One of our cats communicates like that and sort of barks like a dog. Just like it's telling us something at times, and we usually can tell what it's trying to communicate to us, too.

Have a great weekend!

RR

HG48, just thought of an interesting story. Many years ago, when I was a senior in college, I had a run down cheap ole apartment, like $90 bucks a month, on the outskirts of town. Use to see a lot of stray animals about.

One night, it was snowing, the wind howling, and Mrs. RR (then my fiance) and I were watching TV when we heard a faint meow outside. I opened the door, looked down, and there was the most pathetic looking little kitten you have ever seen. It was almost dead. In the weather that night, it would not have lasted.

It had the biggest ears poking out, pronounced by it being so skinny and malnourished. It just looked up at me meowing, just like it was crying for help. We had seen stray cats around there before but they always ran. This time, this one didn't.

We took it in and nursed it back to health. Called him Dinky. I could tell Dinky stories for hours. I use to put him between my head and seat headrest and drive around town with that cat looking out the window. Would go pick up Mrs. RR and she still remembers looking down from the dorm window seeing me waiting on her with Dinky sitting behind my head looking around.

Well, anyway, regarding Penny Rose talking to you, I can recall many times when Dinky communicated with us and would help smooth things over between Mrs. RR and me if we had a squabble or if we just had a bad day. That was back when we both were starting our lives together, moving around, getting jobs, etc.

Like if we had a bad day or a squabble, he would come meow and rub on me and then go over to her and do the same thing. We'd know exactly what he was doing. Before long, things would be better.

There were many times things were rough back then for us. No money, young folks, out job hunting, starting careers, both of us soon entered grad school, I was working on a Masters at night and climbing the corporate ladder in the day job, years later, law school at night for me, with Mrs. RR working on her doctorate. Lots of trying times for us two young people, yet we look back at those times often and think of all the times we both came home late at night from work and night school, tired, tense, and all that stuff, to be greeted by ole Dinky. That cat just had a way of cheering us up. Can't describe it. For years, he did that. He'd communicate with us, better our moods, just help the whole family situation.

Amazing. Gosh, I could go on and on about that cat.

You may have read my past posts about our animal graveyard by our house. Well, ole Dinky was the first to be buried. His headstone is out there with his name on it right now in fact. That was 16 years ago when he died and I can remember it like it was yesterday it hurt so bad. As crazy as it may seem, I believe that cat helped Mrs. RR and me through some of those tough times young adults go through.
