You are correct. The inflation will be met by powerful deflationary forces coming from the market bust, so it might be swamped out. This is why I said if the bonds move up over the contract highs into a new uptrend, it will be even worse than if it failed. It would truly signal the beginning of a long, long bust.

As for real estate, I can say for sure that it has been moving, even up here in Vancouver. A lot of spec building has been done over the past few years and buildings coming online are now sitting empty. They can't find any more 20-something web kids to pay the mortgages at this point.
