Chic:

"Who do you think will be the Democratic candidate in '04?"

Great question. The wrongheaded support of Clinton has left the Dems a party without a leader and right now without a soul. I predict that the next dem candidate will be a relative unknown. Perhaps a Governor or an up and coming Senator or House member. But I must admit there is no one who I could suggest.

Hi Chic,
I don't see the problems to be near as deep as 1929 or Japan. The Reserve cuts, energy costs and some international woes seem to be putting a damper on the economy. These events are rippling through the economy . As more corporations enter a belt tightening mode, I see little
need to raise interest rates.
If things get as bad as you say, we may not care who is elected or crowned for that matter.

BAD IDEA... Have you researched the Great Depression, and its causes?

Geesh!
