Hi John,

True the Japanese owe the money to themselves, but they have made massive investments in other countries economies, i.e., USA. If the Japanese have to liquidate their US Treasuries to invest the capital in their own banks. We could be in some very serious trouble in our own banking system.

I think this is the front running problem for Greenspan, that's why I think there is a good chance that there won't be a rate cut next week. The US must hold a strong dollar position and keep the foreign money in our economy.
