Dave, we are very strict about holding. WE "allowed" a hold for WCOM and SCHL, CANI.. the other two were mentioned (DPMI and CMVT short/puts) were qualified with FOR AGGRESSIVE TRADERS and risk tolerance was emphasized. We are mostly flat, with the occasional foray into an earnings play (GADZ, WTSLA). We don't believe other rooms even bother with techno-fundamental analysis or follow the earnings plays through resolution so I would tend to agree with you. Homework, research is just as important for me just AS IF I were an investor. This is done after hours, and then again in the early pre-market open using the current news to help (i.e. any upgrades/downgrades etc)

Anyone running a forum (as well as those who trade alone) have a responsibility to do homework, look at the charts, fundamentals, check them through various time frames, double check the market internals, etc. etc. and to top it off the reversal periods. Slap happy trading is not for us and probably the better rooms are getting more responsible and trading LESS with more "beefy" trades. We had a quiet period today while some of the traders did enjoy scalping for a point, the "official" calls waited for confirmation by 1:45 etc.

As for holding overnight, very very unwise especially in sectors that are not safe havens. I still hold a put position or two and might hold DPMI and pack it in finally with CMVT. I pushed this one as far as it will go.
