what is happening in the embedded systems market and more specifically Windriver Systems as the leader in Operating Systems for these embedded systems

I don't follow WIND much anymore, but: IMHO, Embedded Linux (aka open-source based) OSes would seem to possess the ability to form a substantial threat to WIND's proprietary, closed-source products in any number of markets, and that fact alone is enough to put me off of the stock right now. I think they're a great company with fantastics products, but the more I hear about the inroads Linuxes are making in the embedded market (STBs, firewalls, space probes, toasters... :), the more I think the WIND CAP could be shrinking by the day.

Just my untutored opinion, again on a stock I don't follow and don't hold.
