For the record, I do not root for the collapse! In fact I root for the opposite - as long as it is not a bubblish euphoria. My philosophy is simple: if my kids are doing drugs, I won't increase their allowance. (After all, that is what the markets keep asking the feds!) May be I will resort to something drastic. Just like drugs ruin the lives, exessive speculation ruins the portfolio! Not convinced? I 'speculated' that speculation will die in early 2000. But my portfolio nearly died! -ng- Instead of giving-up, I kept my convictions and was able to recover quite a bit of those losses. I may be like the drug addicts myself, in a way!
