Actually, BEAS looks pretty good in the chart you posted! Nice turns, and each profitable. 2 ways to deal with gaps: a) don't trade stocks like BEAS that tend to gap b) sit on your hands for 1/2 an hour at the open, and then trade whatever signal you get at 10 am... TC

Has anybody backtested that idea? Here are some time-related backtests for QQQ 8e/13e/15min. Hour Total Profit 09 $29.16 10 $39.77 11 $(9.89) 12 $ 5.84 13 $(20.03) 14 $31.89 15 $94.34 It appears that the majority of the money is made between 2 and close. There's also a lot to be made holding overnight and until 11 o'clock. It appears to be a wise thing to avoid the doldrums of 11 to 2. I ran a separate test that shows that about 40 points were made in the past just following the signal overnight. The results were similar for QQQ 8e/13s/15 min. I got the best results at QQQ 8e/12e but that is probably just data-mining. I also tested adding another longer confirming average. It didn't hurt a lot but it didn't help. D.
