But it was shares they gave up for R&D, not cash. Those shares would have been worth $40 million if the research had been completed today.
The $275 million or so in development costs was a mandated accounting inclusion and was the market value, at the time, of the shares given to Molex.
Today those same R&D costs would have shown up as $40 million in expenses.
Sorry if the numbers are not exactly correct.



No matter how you do the accounting, that's a lot of shareholder value walking out the back door.
