I think AG is just trying to find a way to avoid a global economic collapse triggered by a Japanese banking debacle. It is possible that an interest cut here to shorten our recession could be the final catalyst in the Japanese problem which could extend our recession much longer than necessary.

I'm thinking there will be not cut next week. 1/2 pt. would probably do little for the market or the economy at this time and everyone has been expecting it for a while so it is priced in. When he doesn't lower, we will be in for more tough love. I'm 50% cash and wishing it were more. Sharon
