Speaking of hoof & mouth disease affecting people, this was amusing:

"Unless you've got a cloven hoof you're not telling me about, there's absolutely no danger."

-- Sandy Miller Hays, director of information for the Agricultural Research Service

(I used to know a few people with cloven hoofs, but they belong to another list.)

Michael,

"Instead of:

"Today the Nasdaq shed 23 points to close at 923 because Foot In Mouth Disease has affected three people in Oshgosh."

We could have:

"Today on the markets price moved because that's what it does each day in the market. All sorts of people have ideas as to why it does, but the truth, dear listener, is that we are all guessing."

no lie. lol. i get real tired of listening to why it went up or down.
