I do know that the public schools stink when compared to when I was young. The homework was often and tough. The tests were difficult and you had to pay attention in class. You learned something each day. The teachers were very well educated and had teaching skills. If you looked crosseyed at a teacher, you were in trouble. You had to dress properly and behave properly. I have only found memories of my public school experience. << The goal of the entire public education system is to produce people who are socialized to vote for the Democrat party. >> That is a shame, if true, but I highly doubt it. I am a Republican, but I probably should be an independent. The Democrat candidates are the worst that I have ever seen by any party. Overall, the Republican candidates are much better skilled and educated. But, I am afraid of the threat of the religious right. << Are you aware that the SAT under fire now was originally conceived by leaders at Harvard to break up the system that allowed the rich to place their children into the elite schools ahead of more qualified individuals. >> How do you know this to be true? << Now its under fire by the new elite who want the unqualified to have the same that the unqualified wealthy had. >> I can believe this. I see this thoughout our society, not just as it relates to the SATs. << Also bravo for standing up for what you believe and being willing to take the heat on it >> Thanks. I wouldn't do it if I didn't enjoy it, and I want to have my opinion heard. But, just between you and me, it gets frustrating after too many abusive notes.
