The inherent falsehold of the tax cut proposal debate is that it became the centerpiece of the Bush platform when the economy was booming, and Greenspan was doing everything he could to cool off the overheated growth. To suggest it was created to boost the economy is an outright lie. The tax cut plan was created to get elected. When the economy began to cool, Bush jumped on the opportunity to make it appear as if it was necessary for fiscal policy to stimulate the economy. But tax cuts for for the year 2002 will do nothing to save this current economic crisis and everyone knows it. Another outright lie.
