So long as the Chinese are territorially amibitious they will be a problem. If their forays into land acquisition are allowed to succeed they will become increasingly emboldened until such point as it takes a military intervention to stop them. We all know enough history to know it has ever been thus. One must be very firm with acquisitive states.

China threw out the olive branch on National Missile Defense the other day. I will be amazed if we do anything other than snub the overture!
