Possible trigger: Greenspan only cuts 50 BP...market expecting 75 BP...not only does market sell-off (and is disappointed), but market begins to capitulate, because, right after Fed meeting, Greenspan can hardly cut again, without looking like he's trying to help the stock market....

StockOperator, I now have to conclude (sic) that the DOW has broken the diamond to the downside with this weeks drop. With the break to the downside occurring at 10,475 and a differential of 2020 from the top of the diamond to the bottom, I then conclude that we are headed for 8458 over the next several weeks. This is another 13% down from here.

I just don't know (or can't guess) what the effect will be on the other indexes. A recent analysis has shown that, for the most part, the local lows and local highs on the major indexes track each other within just a few days. So if Bulkowski is correct and his statistics prevail, in 6 weeks or so, we will see the bottom of the bear. What that will look like and whether or not we will like what we see, I dunno! ggg Bears asses tend to look funny!

Stock Operator....looks like "do-or-die" to me next week.....can't wait for the commentary!

(Possible trigger for some "real" fear: Market thinking 75 BP, Greenie only 50 BP...CNBS trotted out a fairly obscure, but respected economist....one of the more rational guys I've ever heard on there, and supposed sterling track record....he said, "don't hold your breath on 75bp"...bond market still pricing in a great chance of it..

No 75 bp....and......oh mama...that's gotta push some people over the edge...
