March Gilder Report came out today. Much to do about the OFDM technology. Some items mentioned:

Numerous companies pursuing the technology claim that CDMA is "history" and that they're moving right past 3G to 4G wireless.

Mentions Viterbi retiring form QCOM and has now joined Flarion.

OFDM poses no near term threat to single carrier or CDMA based systems. Pursued by T, CSCO, nextNet, WiLan, BeamReach, and Iospan, OFDM seems to attract widespread support not because it is a superior technology but because of its nimble evasion of QCOM patents.

Author(s) suggests if QCOM would charge less for royalties, QCOM would gain more, by eliminating the incentive to spend years on things that have marginal performance benefits but which confuse potential QCOM customers.
