Dear Zoltan: How come the Dems can talk about Abraham Lincoln (A REPUBLICAN) and the Repubs cant talk about JFK. Frankly, I never liked JFK to begin with as his morals were at least as low as Clintons when in came to women, and he certainly left the Cubans in the lurch but, he became an institution with all the BS about that fairytale land. So, to get back to my point, whats the beef? JDN

Rush pointed out a fascinating fact from a book Matthews wrote about Kennedy in 1998. Kennedy and Nixon were best of friends. Nixon was distraught when informed that Kennedy was so sick he might not pull through. And Kennedy is quoted as saying at a New Years Eve party in 1959, that if he didn't get his party's nomination for President, HE WAS GOING TO VOTE FOR NIXON.

Another amusing sidelight of this episode, Rush has been playing a lot of clips from Kennedy's tax cut speeches. In one he said a tax cut would provide an "INSENATIVE" [incentive] for businesses to invest. Maybe Kennedy was a lot like Bush or else his malapropos was a strategery.
