Chaz,

<< The white paper is available ... >>

Thanks for the link. I downloaded it. I'll try to budget some time to read it.

Did you do the CDG Digevent webcast today? I caught the tail end today. Waiting for it to be archived. It looked/sounded pretty good.

I used the latest Winows Media Player. Still having some conflicts with the latest version of Real Player for some reason.

Qualcom is in real GSM troubles.

To only be able to use half of the time slots on two
200kHz wide carriers within a bandwidth of 5Mhz, even with
sectoring, isn't even what the neanderthals could do all
night and day long with sticks, stones and bones.

I'm happy that the russians know a neuron damaged fool,
alternatively a scam, when they see it, slides and all.

But thanks, Dr Q, for finally giving a official clue on
those magic sliding numbers.

Still out in the monocellular desert for Q and then above
weird early GSM chilhood, still developing basic skills.

Ilmarinen.

P.S. Who would order a dual-mode system from that GSM-gnxme

P.P.S. Basic skills in fingermath:

5,000kHz/200kHz = 25 channels

one channel is 8 time slots a 10kbps each, 80kbps total.
(giving that nice saving of battery and immunity for
fading, neighbouring cells, etc by not claiming 200-400kbps,
yet)

Obviously the best Q can do in terms of GSM is to use
only two 200kHz channels per 5,000kHz, and only half of
the timeslots on those two channels, great for spinning
SpinCo... (Q must still have these guardband problems??)

P.P.S. That's like riding one bicycle cut in two halfs
on a four lane highway, probably the best Dr Q can do
with Viterbi gone (trying to ride 1024 bicycles on that
same highway)
