No longs left, the whole market is short, funds sit on the cash, until every possible dollar is drained out of portfolios.
The Nikkei went up over 300 points the other night - and gap and dump.
PPI shows no inflation - and we just get dump without a gap.
Rate cuts coming on Tuesday, doesn't matter - dump.
CIEN has good news - doesn't matter, dump.
It's all orchestrated, funds will sit until the mom and pops wash-out, so they can buy dirt cheap, IMO.

I'm here and buying.<ggg> CSCO, INTC, AAPL, NEWP, EMC, MSFT, and so on, even got some ARBA at 10. You know the old cliché, buy when the blood is running, kind of ironic how "running with the bulls" can cause so much bloodshed!

Even though I've hit a 1+ year low myself I think now is the time to bite the bullet and go long at least for a few weeks. The VIX is above 35, I expect a wash out either Monday or Tuesday with the VIX hitting 40+ followed buy a strong rally, how long it will last is anyone's guess, but it will happen.

Most are looking for a 50 or 75 basis point cut by Greenspan, but it is important to realize that even a 100 bp cut may not be able to rally this market, but a 25 bp cut could spark a sustained rally. How could this be possible? A 25 basis point cut would signal that the economy is probably not going into a recession; however, an aggressive move may even indicate the possibility of a depression.

Bottom line, I have no f'n idea what's going to happen short term, but I'm willing to bet on the long side at these prices....
