I do not think every one waits for the last day. Other wise how you explain the almost straight slide
since Jan 31 ?

how do you explain the straight rally from october 15 99 to jan 1st 2000, and then after the consolidation, how do you splain the rally into the march top,

procrastination -g-

plenty of people wait to buy or sell at the end of a trend.

another way to splain the recent trend down is to look at the volume and summation index of the nasdaq, people loaded up like crazy on nas stock going into fomc, people have been loading up like crazy all the way down from sept top if you look at the leveraged rydex otc fund, not only have people been averaging down, they've been doubling down.
