STOCKHOLM, March 16 (Reuters) - Four of the biggest names in the international computer industry are poised to unveil a major co-operative agreement on Monday in Stockholm, industry sources said on Friday. Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Intel (NASDAQ:INTC), Unisys (NYSE:UIS) and leading data storage company EMC Corp (NYSE:EMC) are to launch a new world standard in software co-operation, the sources said. They were unable to give further details. The four companies are announcing the standard on a European-wide roadshow, starting off in the Swedish capital. "If you are working in a data centre then the chances are you will be using a Unisys product, Microsoft software and using EMC for storage," said one source. "All of this would be using Cisco solutions," she said. Using IT software there could be major peaks and troughs in demand and this could lead to unpredictable results." The new agreement would be a major step forward to integrating all the systems.
