people would it be ok to sacrifice for you not to wear your seat belt? If seat
belt laws were not mandatory we could probably project how many people
would die as a result- how many would be too many for us to make that

Actually it is because kids were discriminated against- those with undiagnosed immunological problems are discriminated against. The children who have the allergic reactions and die are most certainly discriminated against. But we make a choice to kill them for a greater good. It is exactly analogous.
