David, I just wonder why making a big deal about advertising on Market Gems thread? After all, it's her thread.

If she jumps all over other threads and talk about her services, I agree that would be a problem, but this is not the case. The ads on her thread is like the decoration inside her house. It should not even offend the next door neighbor.

People don't have to see her ads if they don't want to. Even if they accidentally enter her thread, they can always turn off the original post. More ironic even, the Market Gems thread is one of the most popular one on SI. I guess it's because people are willing to see her ads to read her opinion about the market. And if it is so, then it is not most members' will that Jenna's thread becomes inactive.

It is true that this case is an excellent example of the "power of the pen." It also an excellent example of the abusive of the power.

Sometimes, its make one wonders about the motive.
