You know, this whole denial thing is making me ill. In this morning's paper there were several common investors quoted as saying they are staying "pat" because the market always comes back. Had a picture of one couple who said something to the effect that they had tried to time the market and always lost.

Good God. I don't know what it will take for these people to sell. Granted most quoted were only talking about losing between $5-20,000, but still...

Amazing.

From where I sit, many just want their money back. I was writing to a fellow on line the other day who had built a portfolio to several million during the rise and it had whittled down to a couple hundred thousand...He was sitting in cash, having closed the barn door a little late. Sure he wants to make it back but many will sit and watch the market recover for quite a while before dipping their toes, if ever. That is fear and is healthy for this market.

Unfortunately it has come at a very high cost which we may take years to assimilate.
