Thanks for the sentiments. I agree that the primary reason for the downsizing was "shareholder value", and I can understand that reasoning. A company has to do what is necessary to survive and satisfy the owners (shareholders like me). It just sucks when I am am one of the downsizee's. What they ended up doing to our west coast operation was to split the manufacturing between two of our (their) other locations, one in Canada, the other in Mexico. Most of the administrative stuff was re-centralized back to corporate headquarters.

Between severance, 401k, IRA and savings I now have no debts and I can live for a couple of years without a job if I have to. I also have kids willing to take me in (they all think there is a big inheritance stashed somewhere - HAAHAHA SURPRISE). I probably won't be homeless any time soon (as long as the kids don't figure it out).

Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk. Got Beer?
