wow tough day to be a market maker in that one...

yeah my big "conservative" acct is up 1% since Sept but my "little" more risky account is littler than it was back in Sept! arrgh. Some fool must have got my online password for my smaller account and tried to do some "bargain-huinting" in Dec ! I've got the FBI on the case!

I think the elephants are in panic mode, which is not a good sign.

It seems the elephants are being run by young and less experienced people. I suspect these managers have no more ability to handle the market than we and this change to inexperienced hands has caused a lot of volatility. I doubt many of the young money managers really knew there was a bubble and they also seem to panic. I have nothing agains youth but experience is very important in certain occupations. I believe most of the current money managers were not in the market in 1987 much less the early 1970s.
