Gst, I have to disagree with you here. I have always believed real estate is the place to be, assuming property owners have staying power.
A case in point. They can always print more stock certificates,and currency, but they can't print more land.
Why do think they build high rise condo's? Its because people can't spread out anymore, so they have to keep piling up on those below them.

I believe you are exactly correct. The market at one time, did value and trade on fundamentals except for short term swings one side or another.

My short on Amazon was based strictly on fundamentals and I never though a mania could go so high nor last so long.

I would like the market going forward to be a forum for investing. It helps the economy when capital is properly allocated and it helps those saving for retirement. It seems as though the system was "broken."
