Ken, re<<<What in the world was Bob thinking, trying to go against the market, when the more obvious (and SAFE) play, was to wait for an opportunity to go *with* the market.>>>

Bob was doing exactly what he should be doing IMO. He saw a potential big profitable trade and advised those aggressive investors who want to participate. I have no doubt he participated himself to some degree but of course nothing to threaten his critical mass. 20-20 hindsight always makes for easy criticism. To be consistent though I would have to criticize his May CTR call then in which I made 31% in one week on a quick NVLS trade. So he already had some record established on calling a CTR

I don't have a problem with the principle of what he was doing. The only unfortunate problem was he was wrong. That is why we hear every week about how tough this market is and newsletters that start with "We were wrong about blah blah blah. We all know that these are not the type of words that have easily flowed from Bob's mouth in the past. Also unfortunate, his incredible record in the past led to risky overconfidence in some of us to be more aggressive than we should have been on this. It is a little ironic that I was ranting and raving to people that when the bear comes rallies will be sold and buying the dip will fail. Boomers will see retirement funds dwindle etc etc. I gave a detailed description to some urging them to get out of the market. The details proved right on the nose but I never saw myself as being in it
