The VIX and put/call ratios hit a little point on Thursday that I liked for a ST bottom call (not even close to sold on them tho).

Are you seeing anything in them that are getting you in a bouncy mood??

Your 575 area on that chart even worked fairly nicely as far back as '99, I see. The thing that worries me is that we arent seeing too much sector rotation into techs. The last few weeks on this NYA chart would be reflected better in the COMP chart if it were the case, imo. Maybe a solid break thru the 575, coupled with a better than expected interest rate cut this week may send the COMP MT higher on some sector rotation into the interest rate sensitive techs?

It seems with the charts there doesn't seem to be much confidence anywhere right now, however. Tough to predict, imo.

Hi Shack,

Hope to see ya soon on the long side :) It's gettin' kind of lonely out here

Nice chart! It is amazing how u can read the patterns...that was a beautiful call that you made 4 weeks ago...

I am mostly cash and am only holding a couple of non-tech puts just in case we crash on Monday. I know I am a bear and live on the dark side but I want to join you guys and go long....I really do. But the market action is still telling me to wait The best way to live long & prosper!

Should be interesting to observe if the 'rolling thunder sector rotation' that Briefing.com coined last January
has run out of equity sectors to hide. (Musical chairs in other words... one chair left.. when will the music stop?) LOL

Regards,
Peter

Shack, good chart and worthwhile analysis. Beats my ramblings about Emperor Greenspan.

I'll try to come up with some constructive thoughts to add to the discussion.
