Take delivery of your own "central bank" reserve ... else defeats the purpose. I mostly buy directly from HK banks as they sell as well as buy, as long as you can show you bought from them what you want to sell back. But, HK out of stock of platinum and now only buys, no sale. Been like this for a year.

In HK, less expensive loans can be secured against physical metal, at debt to equity ratio of 0.5; Should be so in the US (NY city?) but not sure.

Welcome to shiny, fungible and fondlable barbarism, but we really do sleep better even when the stuff drops in price. Of course, do not over do it, like all good things.
