The first few paragraphs seemed to me like Set Theory from mathematics applied to words.

Last night I saw a episode of "Deadline" a show based on a newspaper reporter. The reporter was arguing with his boss and the boss yelled at him about using semantics. The reporter replied, what are you, anti-semantic?.

Charley, that reminds me of the recent shooting in California, the press persisted in describing the kid who pulled the trigger as "the shooter." Never as the "murderer" or "alleged murderer".

Using shooter suggests he merely "shot" his pistol, randomly. Too bad that evil gun had to hit human beings. (If we could only get rid of guns this wouldn't happen)

This misleading language hides the fact he fired 30 rounds, aimed at his classmates. No, he’s not a confused "shooter", he’s a cold-blooded killer, and his actions were evil.

We should clear up the language and call him what he was. "A cold blooded murderer".
