Sure we may be undervalued but I think we have learned that there are extremes to psychology in both directions. If I remember correctly Byron was bearish in 98. Look how long it took the market to realize it. Which will probably be true at the other end of the scale.

Time will tell.

There are easy ways to circumvent purchasing on margin. The easiest is the use of options for leverage. Changing the margin rules will have absolutely no positive effect towards reducing speculation, and in fact, might increase speculation through the increased use of options.
