For those interested in the economics associated with wireless internet access....Qualcomm has published a whitepaper talking about the cost/MB for the various 3G technologies. They believe that HDR is the most cost efficient solution at around 2 cents MB.

One comment....I dont think that HDR will ever really compete with cable/DSL for high-speed access. The 2.4Mbps number that Qualcomm routinely sites is a peak-data rate that they calculate will only occur in 5% of situations. This is a WAG...but I think that HDR (and wireless broadband in general) will probably offer speeds in the 200-300kbps area. The real target market is mobile warriors and those who cant get cable/DSL in their homes.
