Monopoly is an impossibility without government collusion. That is why we have the concept of monopoly. I suppose it is a never ending battle.

concept of monopoly There are many positive-feedback loops which increase the power and influence of some for no valid reason. Monopoly is one, dynastic inheritance is another, as is clan or racial preferences. The freedom to make the best of your life is available only if these influences are minimized, or if you are lucky enough to be on the powerful side of these barriers. Liberals today seek an even playing field as the best route to a meritocracy. TP
