Jacob, >The hope for a 2H01 recovery is going to evaporate. A lot of stocks are still (still!) held up by that hope. Semi-equips in particular.<

and...
>When the CSCO chart looks like that [WCOM], then, and only then, will it be safe to take a long-term position.<

And yet, a lot of semi equips look like WCOM, a stock you think is safe to buy.

ChambersJacob,
Where are they going to get a job????
Seibel and Apple took two of their Division Directors!!!
over the past two months, because they had recommended to Chambers, he cut back on the acquisitions.
Chambers would not stop or alter his acquisition plan in 2000. They were offered better opportunities at Seibel and Apple. They went to greener pastures.?????
Cisco has been unable to smoothly merge the new companies into the Cisco financial cost structure. Therefore acquisition costs and schedule were impacted.
Chambers will now stop the acquisition strategy. How long,
the market will dictate the time frame.!!!! He has reportedly from $ 6-12 billion in cash for the effort!!!
IMHO

>>>And I don't think they need to worry about employees leaving if their employee options are
underwater (where are they going to go to?).<<<

This part of your post doesn't make any sense. Let's say you started working for Cisco a year ago, and your options are priced at $60/sh. You would need a triple-bagger to be even. And look, there is JNPR holding the option carrot out there at todays price. Which would you rather have, CSCO options priced at $60, or JNPR
priced at $53???
