I look forward to Spielberg's work, since I think Lincoln continues to be a very interesting historical figure. There has been some speculation that in the area of economics (of far lesser importance in his specific era) he was somewhat of a socialist. Another example of a public figure who was lucky enough to pass on before he could really make a fool of himself? Another reason to love history...

It's unfortunate that some feel Goodwin is an historian. Think political historian with an extreme Dem bias and you're close to the truth, though the "historian" part is still a conceit by past standards. By those standards Goodwin is a goofy partisan shill masquerading as an historian on TV.
