Pervert Paul, I see you're continuing to live in the past. You must be a real Tull fan.

You promised us Merced/Itanium in 1988 - and it is no more a production product than SMP and mobile Athlon are today.

Both companies have had some stumbles recently, and the new mobile PIII is a nice incremental chip (depending on the specs once they're released, but for now I'll yield the benefit of the doubt).

AMD continues to slowly gain market share and market position.

AMD is priced to fail at 1.8 times sales and isn't failing.

Intel is priced for perfection at 5.7 times sales and is less perfect than AMD.

It's also looking more and more like the loser memory technology Intel bet so heavily on is from the loser company of the decade - nice pick!
