On the upcoming FOMC meeting this week, WAYNE ANGELL to Tony Snow on Fox NewsChannel last night:

"A 50 basis point rate cut risks another major down-leg in the stock market"

He's not out for his firm campaigning for a 75 basis point cut, is he ? Nah.

P :-)

phase one for a significant bottom, trading or otherwise, in progress now? One of the scenarios I threw out the other day that I believe came from Art Cashin on CNBC. it was the notion that with everyone waiting for the Fed, the decision would come, a momentary rally would occur followed by an immediate fall to lows. The idea is investors especially those holding big tech positions will get totally discouraged and see little hope with the Fed cut now over without helping, and capitulate in significant numbers. Now we only need phase two where the market has a major rally be it a likely giant CTR or less likely final bottom. I guess with this scenario we might like to see an ugly morning tomorrow with a big turn around before the close. CTR must now stand for calamatous trading result
