Rich, the big difference between August 1982 and now is that the market was at the end of a 16 years period of consolidation, interest rates were in the 13% plus area and could go only lower, and there was a string of 7 days were the NYSE did not register a single new high. WE are not at an Aug 1982 bottom type here. Fasten the seat belts for a long period of strong bears followed by strong bulls and everything in between.
