Pan American Silver warrant held by Gates unexercised
WASHINGTON, March 19 (Reuters) - A warrant held by Bill Gates's investment company to buy 500,000 common shares of mining giant Pan American Silver Corp. (Toronto:PAA.TO - news) (NasdaqNM:PAAS - news) expired without being exercised, Pan American said on Monday.

Gates's Cascade Investment reported in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission that the warrant expired on Feb. 19.

Cascade holds about 3.1 million shares of the Vancouver-based company, or 9.05 percent of the total common shares outstanding, the filing said.

Cascade acquired the shares for investment purposes only.

Pan American shares were unchanged at $2-25/32 in afternoon trading on Nasdaq. Over the past 52 weeks the stock has been as low as $2-8/16 and as high as $4-10/16.
