jill...how do the government take control of the fed...

same way they created it, by not allowing it to act beyond its charter.....a strong administration has the power of the people behind it, and the voice of the people rings loud in the ears of the congress.....the secretary of the treasury also can be vocal....the fed reserve only has as much power as the administration allows...

not about the stock market and the loss of wealth, more about the harm to the basic business infrastucture...the economy beyond the tech sector has been cooling since 1997/1998...just look at the lay offs and consolidation in basic industry sectors....the claim that the global economy was heating up, japan beginning strong growth was also either a fabrication or a call based on incompetence...

as i have posted to tom, the "manipulation" is most times an incompetent "lemming like" action by those that have more theory then application...from economists to analysts, how can you determine what is good for business, when you never have existed in a real world business environ....

theory, analysis, historically patterns are useless, unless balanced by reality based in experience and logic...

too much emphasis placed on one individual....would the global economies collapse if greenspan stroked out today???? or would they gather around his death bed waiting for guidance amidst his drooling???

no smarter then any of us...he just has a captive audience...remember the wizard of oz.....and what was behind the curtain...
