<< How is this different from the 6185i and 5185i? >>

Good question.

6180i is new to me.

The 5185i is tri-mode as is the 6185i (AMPS/CDMA 800 + CDMA-1900) and the 6185i has a WAP browser while the 5185i does not.

Taking a quick look at the photo, manual, and cover letter ...

... this one has a browser so is different than 5185i.

... it is AMPS/CDMA dual-mode 800 MHz (not 1900 MHz) so looks like a low end phone with browser for some of the Verizon outlets (or other US 800 MHz carriers and Latin America), but not Sprint PCS.

At Verizon it would directly compete with the Motorola V2260 while the 5185i/6185i directly compete with the Motorola StarTAC 7868, Timeport P8767, Kyocera QCP-2035,
Audiovox CDM-9000 (although the 5185i is the only one without a browser).
