I agree that hector has been lying quite a bit so far, but well, every single AMD launches requiring new infrastructure has been missed big times...

750 : 2 months
KX133 : 2-3 months
Super7 PowerNow! : 2-3 months
KT133 : 1 1/2 months
760 : 2 months
etc...

This is the only advantage left to Intel : They do their own boards.

I still think AMD should sub-contact mobo firms to produce a couple of thousands of their reference designs to accompany every launches.

We won't see any serious labtop retail penetration before June at best.

kash, re:" If they miss earnings of $0.40. Maybe even clueless will get a clue???"
I see no reason for you to be nasty. And where do you get the idea that anyone is expecting $0.40 or higher? Zacks on Yahoo ways 0.37, and that is probably one or two revisions out of date. Anything over 0.35 and AMD zooms.

Kashy,
Hey, management can say whatever they want. If the chips aren't ready, they aren't ready. I'd rather they wait and get it right.
Intels delays and P4 suck even worse.
The important point is whether the 760 is notebook worthy.
If it is then things sure don't look AS bad.
Apparently, the problem with the K7 in a notebook goes back to the original power hungry design.

Kash re <<Maybe even clueless will get a clue???>>

Common Kash! That is just a cheap shot and you know it.

I for one most certainly welcome your bearish perspective and agree with it in most part. But such uninvited stabs do nothing but increase the noise.

Do I share Niceguy's optimism? No I don't, but he, just like you, and like Paul is what makes this thread work.

Lets stick to the topic of making money on AMD, long term or short term, on the long side or the short side.

Regards,

Mani
