Palm's strategy trying to do what Microsoft did to IBM OS-2 in 1990. It is more important to have 20 million Palm devices than profit

Except that MSFT was, as I recall, highly profitable even in the midst of its titanic struggle against the then-mighty Big Blue...if it is expected that PALM is the next MSFT+CSCO+whoever (as some have claimed) then it is about time PALM started making those types of profits...

Your point about volume is well-taken, BTW, and you may be right about Yahoo. Although if Yahoo falters I can't help wondering if someone (AOL?) might not pick up those millions of eyeballs...
