And, so did the captain of the Titanic, and look where it got him!
Look at this way. The captain of the Titanic ended up in a watery grave...while Jeff comes out with a smile on his face, and over $100 million!
Signed

Bezos has lost billions of paper net worth.
Revenue growth (Overall) nothing short of phenomenal. IMO.
I admire his persistence. If he's posturing, I admire his resolve.
Does the man look desperate?

Does he look desperate? I would say no. He now has taken $70 million home from Amazon for runnig a company that wasted a huge amount of cash and other resources. Why would Bezos de desperate. You cannot live comfortably on $70 million after taxes? He is not done. He can still sell more stock.

The man is definitely not a quitter. If the ship is going down. Mister [Former Man of the year] is going down with his ship.

A quitter? Why in heaven's name would he want to quit? I suspect the $70 million was more than he ever dreamed about. Bezos is not going down with Amazon. Bezos is set for life. The investors that bought above current prices are going down with Amazon.

Bezos is my hero with such resolve and more importantly, terrific ethics.
