You shouldn't let him get away with that. He is trying to set himself up as the dominant "dog". You should stop him from doing that. If he don't want to listen. Pick him up by his collar and belly and shake him. Julie hates that. It's her worst punishment. They are out of control and you are completely in control at that point. They aren't dumb.
I let Julie sleep with her rear against me. But this is only a self defense position with her. I've rolled on top of her before when sleeping. Didn't want to. Just did. That position allows her some leverage in pushing me and getting away if I roll over.
