M.T. No need to apologise. Last Year

there was a very extensive discussion on whether gold, money supply and other other related issues should or should not be discussed extensively here.

Slider even offered to start another thread if it was the consensus of the board. But, after everyone spoke their piece it was clear that the majority, including me, wanted this to continue to be a versatile and inclusive forum in it's coverage of investment ideas and analysis.

Big Dog is free to begin his own thread and I wish him well.

But please do not feel constrained in expressing yourself here. One of the strenghts of SD is and I hope will continue to be the broad range of it's content.

IMHO one of the biggest weaknesses of most threads is an overly narrow focus which often enables change to sneak up and ambush investors.

The investment markets are complex and interconnected. My years as a broker with one of the major W.S. firms in the 70s and early 80s taught me that to focus on any industry in isolation exposes an investor to unnecessary risks.
