No, I have seen very good tech rallieds with the Naz tic staying under 1000. That is one reason that I use the naz and NYSE tic for different purposes (and never as just one all determining indicator).

Bosco, thanks for your answer; it seems that 50 basis points is what the fed felt was reasonable; after all ,inflation lurks under every recession! In any case, everyone around here is betting the bottom is far off ie the summer; and a naz of @1400; how does that square with the sentiment indicators; most of which are flashing green; the various put call ratios; not seen since last week with the .75 equity ratio etc; the arms 10 index; the dow near a two year low; the fed funds rate at a 17 mos low, the mutual fund money rate high; the mzm liquidization of the economy, bearish advisor sentiment starting to rise; the Time and Newsweek cover indicator; whats left; wheres the rally ? Are we sure the bottom is in August<G>
