I watched the market and it seems in full control. That is to say "ebb and flow" allows a strong message to be sent to Greenspan.

"ebb and flow" is described in "analysis class for beginners" thread. I believe you can do advanced search on Silicon Investor for the posts. It is a different kind of waves of buying and selling by the full service brokers. Two waves in any week. The market was never in danger of any crash.

As far as business goes, it is tax payment oriented in the markets. But it is X'mas oriented in the real world of retail of production and wholesale of manufacturing. 33% of the economy is now in service. The service business is "mean time between failure" oriented, except car repairs and in the old days "TV repairmen"(what stories I can tell there) oriented.

GE is now coming back more aggressively into consumer goods and services, if it needs more extreme growth. Then everyday will be X'mas. Don't be too pessimistic, Santa is always just around the corner. Warren buffet(t)s always did well too with low tech consumer businesses.
